You awake from yet another dream, or night terror. Glancing at the clock, you see that it's six in the morning, two hours before you had to go to work. What you woke up from was nothing but smothering blackness, and the sound of someone screaming, only to realize that the person screaming was you. It made you shiver just thinking about it.
People found it amazing that you could speak in your dreams; doctors said that it was psychological, stating that you could speak, but didn't want to. You close your eyes again, slipping into another dream.
*Le dream!*
"Where is she?"
"Just wait, she'll be here."
"I'm here now. Sorry to hold you up. Shall we begin?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Do we have everything?"
"Yes, ma'am."
Walking into the containment cell, you look around, seeing SCP - 049 in the corner. Instinctively you reach for your notepad. Finding none, you speak.
"Is he safe to approach?"
"Yes, just don't let him touch you."
"I know, I'm not stupid."
"Right. Proceed, ma'am."
Nodding, you walk towards him. You make no sound as you walk, but 049 still seems to hear you, looking up to watch you. You shudder at his stare, feeling almost entranced by it. Stopping, you speak.
"Hello, my name is Doctor (Y/n)."
"Hello doctor."
You turn to look at the guards, motioning for them to leave. They look at you surprised, but do it anyway.
"I hear you have the cure."
"Yes, the cure is for the great disease."
"Would you describe this 'disease'?"
"It's every where."
"I see. Do I have the disease?"
"No."
"Oh."
"You seem disappointed at that."
"I was hoping you would tell me more about this cure, or perhaps show me."
"Then come here."
He raises his cuffed hands, beckoning you closer. Your hesitant at first, but step closer. The closer you get, the more painful it becomes, until you can't stand it anymore, and your vision goes black.
*This is the sound of your alarm!*
Jolting awake, you slam your hand down on your alarm, and get up. You rub the sleep from your eyes as you get ready for work. Nothing goes right, however. First, you fall out of bed onto the floor, only to find a shoe missing. Second, you couldn't find any matching socks, so you wear opposites. Then, the water in the shower was cold, but you shower anyway. And lastly, you couldn't find your security card, only to find it in the last place you had it.
Exiting the room, you headed for the elevator to the basement. You felt giddy, or perhaps nervous, on your new mission. It was a nice change, even if it was for a few hours. The elevator dings, signaling your stop. Getting off, you walk to the observation cell. Upon entering, you notice it empty, until you hear an armed guard coming in.
"Your here. Shall we get started, ma'am?"
You nod, following him into the cell. After a couple of minutes, 049 is escorted into the room. You turn to the guard beside you, scribbling a note for him.
'Where are the class D's?'
"Doctor [Redacted] felt it wasn't necessary to have them. Is there a problem?"
Shaking your head, you turn your attention back to 049 and his escorts. He's led to his usual spot in the cell, and the guard beside you motions for you to advance. You walk up to 049, and hand the guard a note.
'Does SCP - 049 read?'
The guard shrugs; "We don't know, but Doctor [Redacted] says it's quite intelligent."
You nod, brushing off the fact that the guard call 049 an 'it' rather than a 'he'. You had a few questions, but since you couldn't speak, and the fact that you didn't know if 049 could read the notes you would have handed him. Instead, you begin to think of something, trying to come up with some sort of plan. You find your mind blank, frustrating you, so you decide to just go with handing him a note. Thinking, you come up with the lamest note ever.
'Can you read my note?'
"Yes, Doctor (L/n), proceed."
You stare, stunned, but only for a second. How did he know who you were? You didn't wear your badge, you kept it in a wallet, only revealing it when you needed. You swallow, and write on your notepad.
'Do you posses the cure?'
It's almost like he's reading over your shoulder; "Yes."
'What is it for?'
"The great disease."
'Do you mean the, in mundane terms, the human race, or perhaps the Black Plague?'
"No."
'Then what?'
"It's everywhere."
'Do I have the disease?'
He doesn't respond. You repeat the question.
'Do I have the disease?'
More hesitation, you begin to wonder if you do; "No."
'Can you tell me more about it?'
"It is the Great Disease."
'The Black Pestilence?'
"Yes."
'But you just said it wasn't.'
He doesn't respond.
'Does it have to be punctuated right?'
This time he stares at you, sending your blood cold, your heart rate to increase, and a curious chill runs up your spine. Your body betrays you curiosity, and you scribble on your notepad furiously.
'This cure, it works every time?'
"Yes."
'Interesting. How many cases.'
"More than you could count. Have you come across any, Doctor (Y/n)?"
He stuns you, and you wonder how he knew your full name. Even the armed guards are caught off guard by this.
'No, not yet. Can you teach me this cure?'
"No."
'Why not?'
"No."
'If it helps, why can't I learn it?'
"Doctor (L/n), your time is up." The armed guard says, checking the clock.
'We shall continue this later.'
You get up and walk out to your lab to submit your results.

Various! SCP x reader (part 2(049))
You had seen a few elevators along your long and painstaking journey through this literal hell hole. Every time you saw one, you would silently wonder whether down below held the way out, though you were always swayed from proceeding into the elevator by the ominous and not so friendly sounding noises from below.
By now, you were desperately craving human contact. The eye pods were as good enough company as any small friendly being could be, but they could not provide the friendly ‘hello’ or reassurance that any human being could do. It was weird, you technically weren’t alone yet you felt a huge void of emptiness and lonel

The new one (SCP-035 X Reader) Part 4
Papers. Boxes. Documents. Bookshelves covered under a thick layer of dust and spiderwebs. You coughed, feeling the dusty air in your lungs. Jessie looked up at the flickering light on the ceiling. This little room must have been abandoned or forgotten about over time, it looks and smells like an old basement.
"So... We're supposed to clean up and put the documents back into order..." Jessie said, sounding just as tired and disappointed as you are. You sighed, whiping a strain of you (h/c) hair out of your face.
"What kind of order? Alphabetical or numerical?" you asked while counting the ammount of boxes that cover the ground and walls.

SCP-049XSCP!Reader 2
Bored. So bored, I might just keel over in this cell. It’s been 4 weeks since I last saw that strange SCP, SCP-049, that is his designation. The doctor that I’ve been assigned came and went every week as usual, but I never saw 049 in the halls again, I guess the big wigs upstairs heard of the incident and changed the schedules so we wouldn’t run into each other again. I pace back and forth in my cell, the people come in to offer me my dinner; I don’t eat any of it. They can see that I am upset at something, see that I am not eating, they think my behavior is suspicious but they never ask me what is wrong, they probably
